Melita Inc has a widely varied resume' of sponsored activities.
December 2001: Initial phase of the Historical Marker Project
with research.
January 2002: Painting classes began and painting materials
supplied.
Classes were held through July 2002.
April 2002: Donations made for art materials to the Malvern
AR Boys and Girls Club.
May 2002: Successfully applied for and received a grant from
the Arkansas Humanities Council for the research of information
that can be used on historical markers along the Ouachita River
Millennium Trail at Rockport, Arkansas. This aligned with our
objective to record and preserve cultural heritage.
January 2003: Donation and Award of Recognition to the Historical
Society of Hot Spring County, Arkansas for research assistance
on the Historical Marker Project;

May 2003: SW Trail HSC Tour "Acclaimed Historian"
Marcus Phillips, tourguide for the Hot Spring County Historical
Society members and guest (see photo).
May 2004: Co-sponsered the first-ever Mid-Arkansas
Powwow as an art form and an educational multi-cultural public
event; performance of traditional dance forms, and sharing of
cultural music, food and regalia with many Native American nations.
August 2004: Promoted folk musician/composer artisan; introducing
his music
by CD to certain media outlets.
February 2006: Supported the Black History Celebration Month
with a purchase at an event held by P.H.O.E.B.E. (People Helping
Others Excel By Example) an Arkansas organization for preserving
historic records.
August 2006: Purchased, organized and shipped new clothes, art
and school supplies to two elementary schools in South Dakota
for the Native American children.
September 2006: Co-sponsered the International Day of Peace
celebration event with REGARD (Recognizing Everyones Gifts
and Respecting Diversity) in Hot Springs, AR.
November 2006: Mosaic Madness workshop scholarships funded for
adults and children.
September 2007: The Caring Place mosaic project sponsored (see
photos).
November 2007: New clothes donated to Ouachita Childrens
Center, Hot Springs AR.
